The unique 60' St Nectan's Kieve waterfall is a registered sacred site & is
among the ten most important spiritual sites in the country. It has been a place

It was a healing centre in the 12th century & people still come to bathe in it's
waters, many claiming remarkable healing effects). It has been a tourist
attraction ever since there have been tourists.
Charles Dickens paid to visit in 1843 & the painting by Daniel Maclise in the
Victoria & Albert Museum "The Girl In The Waterfall" is of Georgina Hogarth
(Charles Dickens' sister-in-law). In recent years it has become increasingly
popular with groups wishing to hold Weddings , handfastings, birthday parties,
etc

consents (the building is not listed).
