Jean & Barry Litton who have been the owners & guardians of this site for over 25 years are retiring due to health reasons. The business has been run with minimal advertising mainly being by word of mouth. In spite of this it attracts visitors from all over the world.
The unique 60' St Nectan's Kieve waterfall is a registered sacred site & is among the ten most important spiritual sites in the country. It has been a place of reverence, worship & healing since pre-Christian times.
It was a healing centre in the 12th century & people still come to bathe in it's waters, many claiming remarkable healing effects). It has been a tourist attraction ever since there have been tourists.
Charles Dickens paid to visit in 1843 & the painting by Daniel Maclise in the Victoria & Albert Museum "The Girl In The Waterfall" is of Georgina Hogarth (Charles Dickens' sister-in-law). In recent years it has become increasingly popular with groups wishing to hold Weddings , handfastings, birthday parties, etc

The property is freehold and consists of 2 Bedrooms, 2 Reception rooms, Kitchen & Bathroom Bungalow. It is reputed to be built on the lower stone walls of a 6th century chapel, the cellar being the site of the hermits cell.
There is scope for extension/improvement subject to the necessary planning consents (the building is not listed).
The Tea Gardens & accompanying Kitchen & Toilet are attached but separate from the house which is used solely as a private dwelling by the owners.
The land consists of a 3 acre field, 1 1/4 acres scrub land, 1/4 acre garden with Orchard, Greenhouses, Ponds, 2 Large Outbuildings including a 4 Berth Chalet used for family & friends. The rest of the land is the waterfall area and a major part of St Nectan's glen
